About Syracuse
Syracuse lies at the northeast corner of the Finger Lakes area. Its humid continental climate is known for its snowfall. It’s due to the lake effect from nearby Lake Ontario and the north-east. February is the snowiest month, while in July you can expect an average temperature of 82 °F.
The population is about 150,000. The city is also called “Little Italy” since the Italian immigrants settled the area in the late 1800’s.
