About Salt Lake City
Salt Ltake City was named after a salty inland lake which dominated the desert. The Great Salt Lake, in northern Utah, is the largest lake west of the Mississippi River. The city was founded in 1847 by a group of Mormon pioneers who settled in the Salt Lake Valley. Today the population is about 200,000. The climate there is humid continental with hot summers and snowy winters. The average temperature in January is 29 degrees, and the temperature in July can reach up to 100 degrees.
The thing that driver many people here is the growing employment opportunities, various recreational activities. It also has a reputation for being a clean and friendly town where you can enjoy the view of the sky, for affordable living costs and a booming creative scene. It was host to the Winter Olympic Games in 2002, and it is home to the NBA Utah Jazz.
