About Albuquerque, New Mexico
Albuquerque is the most populous city in the state of New Mexico, with an estimated population of over half a million residents. It is located in the northern tip of the Chihuahuan Desert, yet parkland makes up for 23% of its total area. In fact, believe it or not, nearly 80% of the population lives within walking distance of some park in Albuquerque, which means one thing’s for sure – you’ll always manage to spend some quality time in nature when you get there.
One thing that Albuquerque is most commonly known for is the International Balloon Fiesta , the largest hot air balloon festival in the nation which takes place every year during the first week of October. Another thing that your chosen destination is known for is its semi-arid climate, due to which the city experiences dry and sunny summers and somewhat chilly winters. There are around 300 sunny days per year in Albuquerque.
